Virtue Ethics Foundation is working with teachers, parents, the education sector, and other stakeholder organisations to raise awareness about the importance of character education amongst policymakers.

Character education, using virtue ethics, emphasises the understanding and appreciation of human dignity – the recognition that human beings have special value and are worthy of respect because of the very fact that they are human beings.

Through our work, and research for character education, we are lobbying the government for character education to be implemented into mainstream education under PSHE from primary level education upwards. We are calling for the government to review and restructure the current, non-statutory, character education and adequately teach and support children to tackle today’s societal issues including homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and knife crime through a structured, values-based curriculum with human dignity at its core.
